I have never shipped anything from the U.S. into Canada. What do I need to do to get my shipment across the border?

All shipments entering Canada must have documentation presented to Canada Customs officials for clearance into Canada. Customs brokers at the border, or inland, can assist with document preparation and the submission to Canada Customs. They will act as your agent, therefore you must have an account already established with a customs broker to expedite this clearance. If you do not already have one, we can refer you.

I am going to ship a high value shipment across the country. How can I be sure it will be properly insured?

Within Canada, all shipments are insured for a value of $4.41 per kilogram, unless a higher declared value is marked on the Bill of Lading. The carriers we select for high value shipments provide cargo insurance in excess of $1,000,000.00. For additional peace of mind, we can provide one time cargo insurance with $0.00 deductibles up to any amount at very competitive rates. JUST ASK US!

Why should I deal with a freight broker and not directly with a carrier?

This is probably the most asked question we receive. The answer is simple. Even the largest carrier will not have a truck in every location and at every time you need one. In order to source your transportation needs you would have to call numerous providers in the hopes that one will be available for you. A freight broker saves you from this time consuming process. Our network of preferred carriers is large enough to encompass all of North America. We know which carrier has the right equipment in the right place for you when you need it. In addition, our volume purchasing of transportation services allows us to keep our rates competitive.

My shipment is 10' high. What type of equipment is required to move this?

What are HTS’s strong areas or lanes for transportation?

As a non-asset based provider, no one lane is stronger than any other. We are not encumbered by balancing equipment with traffic lanes as a carrier would be. Our strength is providing quality service at competitive pricing across North America.
